-Mexico 2019 - Skater - Ciclovia - Roma

At the main entrance to Chapultepec Park, there is often a slalom course set up for roller bladers to practice their moves.  Thw guy in these videos seemed pretty accomplished to my untrained eye.  In each of these videos he does a slightly different move.

And, yes, another Ciclovia.

The jacarandas are such a beautiful adornment throughout the city.

Mexico City totally embraced the success of the movie, "Roma" by the Mexican Director, Alfonso Cuaron who grew up in the neighbourhood of Roma, the same neighbourhood where I stay.  On the day of the Academy Awards, a big Roma Fest was staged in the Plaza de la Revolucion, a huge stage with bands performing all day, culminating in the showing of the Oscars.

Mexico 2019 - Dancing- night Ciclovia

Once again I rode to La Ciudadela where people get together to dance every Saturday.  And, once again, it was fun to watch the people dressed to the nines doing these dances that it looks like they've been doing together for ages.

On one Saturday night per month, a night time Ciclovia is held from 7 - 11pm.  What a wonderful experience that was, to be out there at night with hundreds or maybe thousands of cyclists, joggers, skaters, walkers, the bikes all lit up, the buildings and monuments all lit up.

There were bands set up along the way.  These guys played some pretty good R&B and jazzy kind of stuff.  The sound mix is not very good but you get the idea.

Mexioc 2019 - More Franz Mayer revisited.

It had been a long time since I'd visited the permanent exhibit there from Franz Mayer's collection and was reminded of the beauty of these treasures that were assembled.  The workmanship and artistry that went into these pieces is pretty astonishing.

I was really taken by many of these pieces so I took a lot of pictures

 Such detail and artistry

Mexico 2019 - random photos and Franz Mayer revisited

One of the programs offered at the Ciclovia is for blind and vision impaired people who want to ride.  They are paired with a sighted person on a regular tandem bike or, for small people, one like this:

A beautiful magnolia along the way during Ciclovia (at least I think it's a magnolia.  Correct me if I'm wrong.)

I learned that there was a new exhibit at the Franz Mayer museum.  Of course you remember this place from earlier posts.  I found this Neuvo Baroque exhibit quite interesting and nicely displayed.  Some nice consciousness shifting pieces.

That's probably enough to take in for now. I'll show you the permanent exhibit in the next post.
