Guanajuato 3

The routine here in Guanajuato seems to be settling out into: socializing, hiking, eating, reading, movies, music.  A tough life but........  I've heard a huge variety of music:  gypsy jazz, classical, reggae, rock and the music that goes on continuously in the evenings in the main plaza where mariachis, buskers and others vie for the patronage of the outdoor restaurant and bar goers.  Some good movies too.  There was recently a David Bowie film festival, all the movies he appeared in in some capacity from major roles to cameo appearances.  All free.  Here are some scenes around town.

A frog?

My dear old friends, Ron and Meg, came to visit for 9 days last week.

Lucky for them they had a first class tour guide and got the best Guanajuato experience possible.  We took a day trip to the town of Dolores Hidalgo which I've written about in past posts.  It's small and historic with unusual ice cream flavours (shrimp and octopus, mole, avocado, etc), some beautiful ceramics and friendly people.
A bowl Meg bought me.

These scenes on the wall of a church in Dolores Hidalgo beg for captions.
 Check this out.... ow!
"Yeah, this cross should do it."  And the angels said, "oh no, not the cross."

And they don't even let bikes in that church!
