Ballet Folklorico, misc & the end

The Ballet Folklorico de Mexico is an institution in Mexico and, in particular, in CDMX where it was formed by Amalia Hernández sixty years ago.  This troupe performs Mexican dance and music that incorporates the many elements of Mexican history and culture.  Their principal performing venue is the beautiful Palacio de Belles Artes.  I had not seen the ballet at that venue and I thought Nancy would like it so we got tickets for a 9:30 Sunday morning performance.  An unusual time to be going to a show but it worked out perfectly with car free Sunday.  We got bike share bikes and rode right down to Belles Artes without having to contend with traffic.  The show definitely lived up to it's billing: spectacular, seamlessly choreographed, great dancing, music, costumes.  And the venue is pretty spectacular as well.

As you can see, we were way up in the nosebleed section.

Having thoroughly enjoyed the show, we emerged into the bright sunshine of mid-day, grabbed a couple of bikes and rode home on the still car-less street.

And that takes us to the end of this Mexican sojourn.  I'm already planning the next trip there so don't go away. In the mean time I'll be blogging about Wanderingsonward closer to home.
