Butchart Gardens - Peacocks

Before we head off to Mexico City, from where I am writing, I thought you might like some Butchart Gardens Christmas lights.

A large and ever-growing flock of peacocks live in Beacon Hill Park across the street from my place.  They wander the neighbourhood, nonchalantly strolling wherever they like, stopping traffic as they saunter across the streets.

In inclement weather they like to shelter under the overhang in the front of my building.

Some of my fellow residents don't like them for the prodigious amount of poop they deposit.  I think they add a nice touch.  Last year a peahen nested in our garden but the one egg she laid disappeared much to the distress of some of my neighours.

And now, off to Mexico!
