My first Ciclovia of 2020
Art imitating life
Today I went to the National Museum of art to see an exhibit of this woman, Anita Brenner who I only recently became aware of. She was a journalist, anthropologist, transnational Jewish scholar and intellectual, who wrote extensively in English about the art, culture, and history of Mexico and lived much of her life in Mexico City hobnobbing with the great muralists, writers photographers, and politicos of the early 20th century and who wrote a definitive history of the Mexican revoution. Fascinating woman. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anita_Brenner
This world renowned sculpture, Behind the Walls by Spanish sculptor Jaume Plensa, is on loan to the museum.
Every year I tell myself that I don't need to take more photos of the interior of this museum but every year I'm captured by it's beauty and elegance and can't resist
Finished for the year.
