Mexico City 2020 - Christmas Festivities

Here we are, back for another winter's sojourn in Mexico City, to be henceforth referred to as DF for the sake of simplicity.  I arrived in the waning minutes of December 31, 2019 and us passengers counted down on the tarmac waiting to be released.  No, Air Canada did not give out champagne but we were happy to be set free after a protracted wait for the ground crew to let us out.  Next morning, or rather later that same morning, I mounted my trusty bicycle (kept in storage) and made my way over to the Paseo de la Reforma, knowing that there would be something of interest going on there.  This year there was a Piñata and Nacimiento exhibit.  You all know what piñatas are and nacimientos are nativity scenes.

Check out the guy at the back, an action figure wise man, Lucha Libre king?

This one was quite bizarre in a quintessentially Mexican way.

These kings look stoned if you ask me

  1. Until the trip we are now on, I never knew that piñatas were a Christmas thing.
